Emergency Extractions
Life happens. And we’re there when it does. If you damage a tooth in a car accident or your child gets injured playing sports, we can help. Call (503) 689-8936 to schedule an appointment. But try not to worry. In some cases, it’s possible to save a severely chipped or cracked tooth with the aid of a dental crown or other restoration.

Wisdom Tooth Removal
We offer wisdom tooth removal for adults and teenagers. But believe it or not, having your wisdom teeth taken out isn’t always necessary (or recommended). If your wisdom teeth aren’t causing you pain or crowding other teeth, it might be OK to just let them be. But if you or your teenager needs their wisdom teeth taken out, we can help.
Health-First Extractions
If during an exam or checkup we find that a tooth is severely decayed or diseased, we may recommend an extraction if it’s the best way to restore your health and wellness. We’ll explain your options and help you make the best choice.

When is a tooth extraction needed?
Generally speaking, we recommend extractions in these situations:
- When baby teeth are over-retained
- When tooth decay or infection is too advanced to save the tooth

How long will it take to feel better afterward?
After the anesthesia wears off and you’re not numb anymore, you’ll experience some pain, discomfort, and swelling. You may need over-the-counter or prescription medication to help you feel better. We also recommend you use an ice pack to reduce swelling. To aid in healing, we also encourage you to avoid hot liquids and drinking through a straw for a week or so.
You should feel as good as new (and hopefully even better!) within a couple of days. But if you have questions following an extraction, call our office for more information.
